10 things challenge - week 7

Husband started going through some of his collectibles that have been gathering dust in a dark place in our basement for years and he's been selling them on eBay.

Yay! More unnecessary stuff is leaving our humble abode!

Commuting sucks

(via: imgur)

Actually, I don't mind the drive. It's the other drivers I can't stand.

This song reminds me of high school ...

... and a sweet, awkward girl named Eunice (poor kid, her parents doomed her from the very start).  She just wanted to be our friend and we weren't very nice to her.  We weren't exactly mean, but you know how teenage girls can be.  It doesn't have to be blatant to hurt.

I still feel ashamed more than 20 years later.

Punch buggy!

Husband found his car parked outside his office on Google Street View!

Um, I guess things have been a little slow for him at work lately.

10 things challenge - week 6

This stuff isn't all from week 6 of our 10 things challenge, but I lost track somewhere along the way.  So I'm calling it week 6 to keep things simple (for me).

This is a bunch of crap we found around the house and in the garage. It feels good to get rid of it!

C'mon, get happy

During his latest visit, my father-in-law bestowed upon us a genuine Partridge Family comic book from 1972. (I've learned not to ask why. It's just the sort of thing he does.)

The book is a scream! And just about every ad features David Cassidy.

10 things challenge - week 5

Sorry I haven't been very good about posting our 10 things challenge progress lately. My new job is fun and challenging but, I have to admit, it exhausts the hell out of me. As a result, our initiative to rid ourselves of 10 unnecessary things a week has kind of slowed to a trickle. I'm just too tired to do much at the end of the day (or the end of the week).

We're still getting rid of stuff, but just not with the same gusto as at the beginning. Oh well, this isn't a race. It's simply an exercise to simplify our lives.

These particular pics are from a month ago when I was preparing to start my new job. Husband reminded me that there were still a couple of boxes of stuff in the basement from when I left my previous job (over 3 1/2 years ago!).

I spent some time picking through the boxes and reminiscing about my fabulous former job and the fabulous people I worked with there.

And then I threw most of the stuff into recycling — except for a few nice things I had collected during my travels. Husband sold those on eBay.

I can't come to the phone right now...

The hunky Old Spice man was nice enough to record a voicemail greeting for me, so I put it into a little video for you to enjoy.

You're welcome.

And, guess what? You can get an awesome voicemail greeting of your own!

This ad creeps me out

[YouTube link]

Just my luck, it's in heavy rotation and I can't seem to get away from the damn thing.  Unless I DVR every show and skip the commercials.

Oh ... problem solved.

Carry on, then.

In honor of Embrace Your Geekness Day, I offer some awesome pics for your viewing pleasure.  We snapped these last month at an geektastic performance of Star Wars In Concert.
