I want to go to there

As a proud people hater, I want — nay, NEED — one of these one-person rooms!

Don't worry, Husband and Child are exempt from my people-hating ways. Still, it would be nice to go into my own little room every once in awhile and just shut the door.

"I used to wonder why the sea was blue at a distance and green close up and colorless for that matter in your hands. A lot of life is like that. A lot of life is just a matter of learning to like blue." ~ Miriam Pollard

I guess I'm not completely unoriginal

Any advantage I may have individuality-wise by not owning the most popular color is more than made up for by the fact that Husband and I both drive gray cars. How's that for individuality?

I'm thinking my next car should be orange. Or maybe purple.

How popular is your car's color?

Child: Hey, this movie isn't out on DVD yet. Where did you get it? Did you download it?

Husband: It's not mine, I swear... I got it from a friend!

Or, (*shameless plug alert!*) you could just visit my other blog.

The summer's too short to spend it being bored.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff

Three years after our beloved 20-year-old Cat passed away, Husband and I finally agreed that Child could get a new kitten.

We went to the Humane Society and somehow ended up adopting TWO kittens. I'm still not sure exactly how it happened, but I think the nice Humane Society lady may have waved her hand and said something like, "These are the kittens you're looking for."

Anyway, we adopted a brother and sister team. They're pure black and pure mischief. Once the female's tummy fur grows back (it was shaved when she got fixed), I may never be able to tell them apart again!

Child is having the time of her life caring for our newest family members while on summer vacation. And I have to admit that Husband and I are both smitten with our new babies too.

Child made this adorable depiction of our adorable kittens at Cartoon My Pet.
